This tour introduces visitors to traditional architecture and settlement patterns of Latgale, the cultural and historical region of eastern Latvia. 

Participants will learn about the traditional village settlement structure (sādža) and gain insight into life in a Latgale farmer’s homestead (first half of the 19th century). 

The tour also includes the homestead of a Latgale wood craftsman from Pasiene parish, where the owner had established a workshop inside the dwelling house and produced spinning wheels, woodworking tools, carts, sleighs and boats. 

Visitors will also see a Dutch-type windmill transported to the museum from Pakalni estate.
